Fellowship Cup: Round Two

So, yeah, hey. Round two happened. And it was wicked cool. Yeah.
Um, kay, here's what happened:
The bounty hunter Boba Fett continued his rampage, this time against the soldier Solid Snake. The fights of round two occurred at Balin's Tomb, in the Mines of Moria. Both combatants knew how to adapt fast and use their surroundings, and that happened almost instantaneously. Boba Fett did have the advantage of his jetpack, and began by rocketing in a wide circle around the room, firing his blaster rifle in short bursts, most of which Snake dodged by rolling. Snake returned fire with dual pistols, one shot of which found a weak spot in Fett's armor, knocking him to the ground. Fett quickly climbed up on one knee, unleashing a flamethrower blast from his arm gun and heating Snake's body armor enough to damage him severely. Fett then followed through with a toxic dart to Snake's neck, which he was too stunned to avoid, and he collapsed to the ground.

Boba Fett vs. Solid Snake= Boba Fett

The young Hyrulian Link faced the dark and mysterious Spawn next, and this fight was long and furious. Link solemnly began with a song from his magic instrument, and granting himself a blessing of increased speed. Link drew his bow with a flaming arrow, aimed, and released at Spawn on the other side of the room, but Spawn sidestepped easily and dodged it. Spawn could see by the look in the young hero's eyes that he had a noble heart, and he knew that his magic would have no effect on him. So he expertly whipped out his automatic rifle and began a heavy burst of gunfire Link jumped and rolled, using his Mirror Shield to deflect most of them, but he did take a few hits. Spawn soon realized that the hero was too fast to finish from long range, so he drew out his famous chain and began swinging it in a flurry. Link responded with a series of shield blocks and sword stabs, but was unable to hit much due to Spawn's swinging. Link was clever enough, however, to be able to use counter moves and look for openings that Spawn left when swinging. He was able to wear him down this way, but in the end Spawn was much stronger, and as Link backflipped onto the stone tomb to prepare a finishing sword strike, Spawn grabbed his ankle with his long chain, flinging him hard against the stone walls and finishing him.

Link vs. Spawn= Spawn

Next came a true battle of the poster-boys, with Marvel's Spiderman facing off against DC's Batman. Spiderman had a decided speed advantage, and began with two large leaps, one from the floor to the ceiling, then one rocketing towards Batman while spinning his entire body. Batman leapt sideways, then made a strong right hook with his armblade, which his target avoided by quickly dodging backwards. Spiderman then grabbed Batman's arm, flipping him backwards over his shoulder, but the Dark Knight was alert enough to twist and land on his feet. He responded with three quick batarangs, but the webslinger easily avoided all of them. He then countered with a webline in an attempt to ensnare the crime fighter, which also failed. After a long period of time with little to no hits being landed, the presiding referee declared Sudden Death, stating that the next hit landed would end the match. After several more dodges, Batman was able to land a punch on Spidey as he leapt by, and the round was over.

Spiderman vs. Batman= Batman

The next fight was very short, with the Human Torch fighting to win against Squall. It was really very little contest, since the Torch began with a big fireball that knocked Squall of his feet and consequently unconscious. Nice, man, nice.

Human Torch vs. Squall= Human Torch

The next fight was the first of several embarrassing fights, with the bulky yet not brainy Tick competing with the Master of Evil Ganondorf. Link's hated rival began with an evil chuckle and an attempt to conjure up a large magic blast, but the Tick began long strides towards him, and with a big grin he uppercutted his foe off his feet and into the stone ceiling. Ganon attempted to struggle to his feet, but the Tick grabbed his ankles, spun him around, and threw him into a wall. The rest of the fight was nothing special, just more of the same. Only one question remains: Does the Tick actually know he won?

Tick vs. Ganondorf= The Tick

Then came another embarrassment. In the match between the Jedi Master Yoda and Batman's pupil Nightwing, Yoda just couldn't seem to get his stuff right. We really don't know what went wrong. He had the Force, he had the cool little muppet grimace, and he had the wicked lightsaber skills. And Nightwing just ran circles around him. Yoda did his sweet flips and slashes, and the young crimefighter dodged it all. He didn't manage to land a lot of punches himself, and the round soon came to Sudden Death.
And then Nightwing punched him.
Wow, that hurt to watch.

Yoda vs. Nightwing= Nightwing

Then came a powerhouse fight. Fellow Justice Leaguers Superman and Green Lantern found themselves against each other, and soon realized that they'd have to fight to get anywhere. They did fight, and it was utter destruction. Although there was very limited space in the room, the two flew rapidly in one tight circle after each other, launching blasts of energy in each other's wakes. Superman's heat vision left thin trails in the wall, and the Lantern's green blasts knocked the stone out of them. Then the two halted on opposite sides of the room, and Lantern began furiously shooting one energy lance after another. Superman was simple not prepared, and took all the hits directly. As he was staggering off the ground to recover, the Green Lantern used the might of his ring to hurl the Man of Steel down into Balin's Tomb, breaking it in half. Superman did not climb out of the rubble.

Superman vs. Green Lantern= Green Lantern

The final fight was another pure power contest, this time between the intergalactic messenger Silver Surfer and the mighty Doomsday. The room was wrecked to begin with, with the stone slab in the center broken in half and pieces missing out of the walls, but the Surfer was too focused and Doomsday too, well, too unintelligent to notice. Doomsday charged forward with a roar, but the Surfer knocked him completely back with cosmic energy. Doomsday jumped up and swung with a punch that would have left shards of bone in his foe, but it was dodged, and the Surfer blasted him, this time without ceasing, until he didn't get up again.

Silver Surfer vs. Doomsday= Silver Surfer

Wow, that's round two! We're nearing a close now, so good luck to those of you still in. (In case you hadn't noticed, your rounds get longer and cooler descriptions the longer you stay in.)
Phew, that was an hour well-spent. For those of you that won, that is.

Fellowship Cup: End of Round 1

Wow, the first round is complete! It's so cool to think that we've come this far, and that the tournament is more than half over. This time I did 7 in a row, and it was sure action-packed (what else was I gonna say?) Ok, let's get to it.

First up was the galaxy's deadliest bounty hunter Boba Fett against the German teleporting mutant Nightcrawler. After reciting the Lord's Prayer, the blue mutant began a series of frenzied teleports in various points of a circle around his foe. The bounty hunter was surprised at first, but was soon able to think fast enough to avoid the flurry of blows and reduce the amount of hits he took. Nightcrawler's saber found the weaknesses in the armor several times during his swift storm. Fett was beginning to feel faint, but his instinct soon kicked in, and after watching his enemy for the maximum amount of time allowable, he predicted the next jump and shot Nightcrawler out of the air. The law of the tournament was "no disintegrations", so Fett had to be content to merely tie up his victim with a cable.

Boba Fett vs. Nightcrawler= Boba Fett

Second to fight were Gimli, son of Gloin, the great Dwarven warrior and Squall the hero bearing the gunblade. This fight didn't have a lot to it, since Squall started and finished the fight with 2 heavy magic blasts that wore through the ancient Dwarven armor and sent the Dwarf reeling into a pillar, consequently bringing a close to his conscious state.

Gimli vs. Squall= Squall

Next came Daredevil, the man without fear, against the battle-hardened soldier Solid Snake.
Daredevil had the advantage in speed, and began to expertly blend acrobatics and combat into enough hits to give the soldier trouble. His battle training clicked in after a while, though, and Snake was able to hit the acrobat with a few handgun shots. He was also able to use judo techniques to turn his foe's blows against him. He was then able to flip Daredevil on to his back and kick his head, sending Matt Murdock's whole world into darkness.

Daredevil vs. Solid Snake= Solid Snake

A large-scale energy fight came next, with the galactic protector Green Lantern and the young clan leader Gaara. The fight occured from the opposite sides of Weathertop, with the two combatants shooting at each other from a distance. Green Lantern began with a preliminary blast of green energy, but Gaara quickly kicked up a small dust storm from the ground and built a small sand wall in front of himself. He then launched a solid column of sand at Hal Jordan, which was also stopped by a green flat barrier. Then the intensity increased, and columns of tan and green were rocketed back and forth. Gaara managed to get one sand spike through the Lantern's shoulder, but he retaliated with a green wave that shattered all of Gaara's sand defenses. He then encased him in a solid green prison, completely see-through and suspended in the air.

Green Lantern vs. Gaara= Green Lantern

The wise jedi Qui-gon battled against the hulking and stupid super hero the Tick next. While the Jedi Master was very focused, the Tick was like a train wreck, charging and swinging with heavy fists that were hard to avoid. Qui-gon used his lightsaber to reduce the advantage of invulnerability, but the Tick backhanded him and sent him flying. After finding his foe to be knocked out, the large super hero began shouts of "Spoon!" and jumped off of Weathertop.

Qui-gon vs. The Tick= The Tick

A powerhouse fight is the only way to describe what happened next, although there was a definite advantage. Superman the man of steel was faced with the problem of stopping the rampage of theJuggernaut. Superman was much faster, and was able to hit in some solid blows, and even move around behind his opponent. Juggernaut had the hardest time, mainly because he was not able to gain any momentum, as Superman would hit him just as he began. He soon collapsed from exhaustion of fighting a lost cause.

Superman vs. Juggernaut= Superman

The last fight of the round was between the original Robin, Nightwing, and the British freedom fighter known simply as V. Both characters were fast, and V did have the advantage of range with his knife throwing, but Nightwing was much faster and able to blend in to the shadows on the hilltop. V was frustrated to see his knives clatter against the statues and columns and Batman's protege leapt and tumbled gracefully among the ruins. He would then handspring toward V and deliver hard kicks and jabs that would stagger V. One final punch knocked him off his feet, and he lay on his back in the dust, still smiling broadly. Nightwing backflipped and landed on his feet neatly, having been untouched the entire time.

Nightwing vs. V= Nightwing

Ok, that's round one! Half of you didn't make it, but don't get too excited yet, since only one of you really will in the end. Good luck for the next round!

Fellowship Cup: Next 5 matches

Wooooooo!!!

Time rolls on, people continue in their lives, and random fictional characters beat the snot out of each other. Yes, it's time for the next five duels, some of which were veeeery surprising. The battles continue on Weathertop.

The first match was between the ranger Aragorn and Link the Hero of Time. Link began by using his magic Ocarina to slow down his opponent. Aragorn then charged, but the young Hyrulean was able to parry the first strike. In several courageous spins and strikes, Link was able to damage Aragorn quite a bit. Having been wounded, the future king was hardly able to attack at all, and Link finished him off undamaged- the perfect match.

Aragorn vs. Link= Link

Next, the jedi master Yoda faced off against the hardened fighter Sub-zero. The small green jedi moved swiftly to start, landing several good hits that did good damage. Sub-zero retaliated with an ice blast that slowed his nemesis down enough to land one slight punch, but Yoda recovered and hurled a chunk of the Weathertop ruins, knocking his opponent out.

Yoda vs. Sub-zero= Yoda

Next came a powerhouse fight between the gamma-enraged Hulk and Silver Surfer, the herald of Galactus. Silver Surfer used his highly superior speed given him by his cosmic surfboard to blast Hulk with large amounts of energy. With each hit, however, Hulk increased in size and strength, and sent the surfer reeling to the other side of the hill with a solid punch. The Herald came back with intensive energy that Hulk bore well, but ultimately fell to.

Hulk vs. Silver Surfer= Silver Surfer

Next came the most evenly-matched, deadly, fast, and surprising match I've ever seen. The great king of evil Ganondorf met against Merlin, the powerful druid. Merlin was slightly faster, and began with an ancient chant and a large blast of fire that left Ganondorf on the brink of health. But then, slowly rising to his feet, the bearer of the Triforce of power summoned a collossal energy ball that sent the druid flying off the edge of the mountain. He then collapsed on the ground, resting only after his victory was assured.

Merlin vs. Ganondorf= Ganondorf

The final fight of this section was between the dark and mysterious Spawn and the young freedom fighter Cloud. Cloud moved first because of his higher speed and began to strike with his large sword, but Spawn was continually able to dodge or remain in the shadows. Spawn then went to blast his foe with magic, and found himself unable to, and realized that Cloud had a basically good heart. Angered, he began to lash out with his chain, striking Cloud severly several times. Cloud responded by changing his tactics and calling down lightning and fire to damage Spawn. Both fighters were severely close to elimination, when Spawn used the last of his energy to punch Cloud in the head, knocking him out.

Cloud vs. Spawn= Spawn

Alright, there's more to come so keep hanging on. I'd like to thank the losers in advance for your good sportsmanship. :)

Fellowship Cup: First 4 matches

Yeah! We've had our first four matches of the tournament and indeed of the entire game!
The contestants faced off at Weathertop, and the struggles were fierce.

The first match was between Batman and Luke Skywalker, and the battle was swift. Batman knew the fighting style of his opponent well, and delivered a series of blocks and hits that kept him fairly well defended, yet delivered enough damage. His intelligence was key, as part way throughout the match he was able to increase his attack by analyzing the young jedi. Luke managed one slight hit, but the Dark Knight retaliated with a small grenade that damaged Luke severely. One final uppercut took him out.

Batman vs. Luke Skywalker= Batman

Match two existed between Wolverine and Spiderman, and this one lasted a little bit longer. Spiderman began with pure speed delivering blow after blow, but the X-man took it well, and stayed in shape for quite a bit of it. Wolverine delivered one solid claw strike that damaged the web-slinger in the ribs, after which young Peter Parker decided to not let the enraged mutant hit him again. He outwitted him with a few fake maneuvers, followed by a flurry of hits that ended with an unconscious Logan.

Spiderman vs. Wolverine= Spiderman

The swiftest fight so far occured between the fast-talking Cajun mutant Gambit and the fast-moving hothead Human Torch. After a few lines of witty banter, Johnny Storm rapidly concluded the fight with one large blast of fire that damaged Gambit enough to render him unconscious.

Gambit vs. Human Torch= Human Torch

The final of the first rounds were between powerhouses this time, in a battle between Doomsday, the bane of Superman, and the great Sephiroth.
Sephiroth was clearly outweighed in strength, but took the monster's hits well, and struck back with powerful magic blasts that quickly lowered his opponent's health. The greatest member of SOLDIER also won the battle of wits later, and increased his attack while looking for a weakness. Doomsday returned, however, in a hurt rage that the weak human was unable to stop, which leveled him.

Sephiroth vs. Doomsday= Doomsday

Congrats to the winners, better luck next time to the losers, and kick some butt to those still to come. This is a good thing, you guys. Thanks for all the support.
